The naming of cats is a difficult matter

Reclaiming your ancestry via your "family name". All European names had their ancestry in some skill or chore. Most Europeans were vassals ("of the court", "of the field" etc). The roots are as untraceable as those of former slaves. Who knows who we were before we became "courtly" or "coopers" or "smiths".
